Why do I keep dreaming about the person I like?

Reasons for dreaming. In 1969, David Fox of Emory University conducted an experiment. When a sleeper was in a REM sleep state and had intense eye activity, he woke the subject up and asked him what he had dreamed about. Then various situations are summarized and the following conclusions are drawn. Most of the things that the subjects dreamed about were things they cared about, such as exams, love, etc. In other situations, if some people were thirsty, hungry, or had the urge to urinate during sleep, what they dreamed about were basically related to these things. Therefore, these dream stories that connect the various events have no important meaning at all. Therefore, some people believe that dreams are just an exercise in connecting various emotions and events. But some people have proposed two hypotheses about dreams through computer models. One hypothesis was proposed by British psychologist Christopher Evans. He believed that dreams are like removing the computer terminal, reprogramming it, and then checking it. Therefore, sleep is a state in which the input of external signals is cut off and the motor system is at rest. On this basis, dreams test the brain's programs, then recompile and polish them to train the brain's ability to apply recent signals to future events. According to Evans, we humans are social animals, and therefore we must classify these social animals into different types or categorize them by personality, and this process must be quick and agile, and dreaming can allow this rapid classification to be practiced. Another powerful theory also comes from electronic computer models. The originator of this theory is Francis Crick, who is famous for inventing the double helix model of DNA. Crick linked the fact that mammals have a large neocortex with the fact that sleep occurs in both mammals and birds. From the two points of view that "the cerebral cortex contains crisscrossing nerve fibers" and "the junctions between nerve cells are excitable", it can be considered that the cerebral cortex is composed of several excitatory units or excitatory elements. The connection between nerves has three characteristics: the first is radial afferent; the second is complete strength; and the third is aggregation. The excitation signal enters a part of such a network structure. As the processing feature of this part, as long as there is a signal input, there will be a corresponding appropriate signal output. When there are signal inputs associated with several synapses, there will be correlated signal outputs. Therefore, if we link their abnormal mental state with this electronic computer model, we will find the following relationships: (1) When the synaptic connections are too many or not smooth, "illusions" will occur; (2) No matter what signal is input, the same circuit will be excited (obsessive-compulsive ideas); (3) Even inappropriate stimuli that normally would not cause a reaction will cause a reaction (hallucinations). Crick believed that if an electronic computer made a mistake, the shallow path could be cut off for inspection, but the human brain was different. The shallow path could only be inspected during REM sleep. During REM sleep, the brain is isolated from normal input and output and is receiving non-specific stimulation from the brain stem, and this stimulation is very active, which is the so-called unconscious dream.
